Peter Walter Jefferson, 69, of Henderson, passed away peacefully at his home on November 17, 2019. Pete was born on January 18, 1950, in Brockton, Massachusetts to Walter and Edith (Hoyt) Jefferson. Pete grew up in Abington, Massachusetts where he enjoyed playing high school football. Following graduation, he studied education before choosing to work on the Abington, Massachusetts police department for several years. In 1978 he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he chose to work in the casino industry for over 35 years. Pete completed his college degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1988. Pete married Kim, his loving wife of 30 years, on November 11, 1989, and they settled down in Henderson, Nevada. Pete and Kim proceeded to have two beautiful children, Sean and Mackenzie, who were the sunshine of his life. Pete was very active athletically competing in running races, biking events and triathlons. Pete played a bit of college and semi-pro football as a young man and competed in two bodybuilding competitions in the '80s. He and Kim met while both were aerobics instructors. Pete's greatest joy in life was being a husband and father. He also enjoyed traveling where he was always in search of a new adventure, winery, or brewery. Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Edith, and his sister Nancy Morin. Pete is survived by his wife Kim; 2 children, Sean Jefferson of Sultan, Washington, and Mackenzie (Jeran) Hillstead of Cedar City, Utah; and his brother, Richard Jefferson of Florida.
