Rachael M. Crowe Beauchamp, PhD, age 92, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, of natural causes in Las Vegas, NV.
Rachael was born February 4, 1930 to the late James W. Morris and Marie “Mamie” Elizabeth Morris nee Funk in Jackson, Mississippi. She was quite involved in theatre acting, production, and direction most of her life. Rachael was a professor at Christian College of the Southwest in Mesquite, TX, University of North Texas in Denton, TX, K.D. Conservatory in Dallas, and Valencia Community College, Kissimmee, FL before retiring. In addition, she was a special education teacher in Kentucky, and worked for the American Red Cross. She was a first-generation graduate of Belhaven University in Jackson, MS. She earned a master’s degree from Baylor University, Waco, TX, and a PhD degree from Florida State University.
Rachael was a past member of Austin Street Church of Christ, Garland, TX, Church of Christ of Kissimmee, Kissimmee, FL, and North Oaks Church of Christ, Valencia, CA.
Her memory is a blessing to sons, Robert W. (Barbara) Crowe of Lubbock, TX, Ronald E. Crowe, PhD (Audrey) of San Antonio, TX, and daughter, Carolyn Crowe Fain (Andrew) of Las Vegas, NV; cousins, Sherry McGuire and Carolyn Penny of Alexandria, LA; seven grandchildren, who know her as “Buddy”: Austin Crowe, Timothy Kyle Crowe, Evan Crowe, Michael Crowe, Sara Crowe, Anna Lee Crowe, and Z. Grayson Fain; and one great-granddaughter, Lyra Hazel Crowe.
Besides her parents, Rachael was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert J. Crowe; her second husband, George Beauchamp; her sister, Jane Porterfield, and her granddaughter, Mariah Crowe.
Memorial contributions in Rachael honor may be made to Christians in Theatre Arts.
Interment services will be 9:30 am, Friday, July 1, 2022 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.
