Born on February 17, 1993, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Rachel was a beloved daughter, a cherished girlfriend, a devoted sister, a loving aunt, and an adored granddaughter. She was also a dedicated researcher in the field of optics. With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce her untimely departure, mourning the loss of a brilliant soul who touched many lives.
Rachel's intellect shone brightly like a guiding star in the sky. Her passion for knowledge and her unyielding spirit were evident in her dedication in her studies and social issues. She loved teaching and sharing her discoveries with others. At the time of her passing, Rachel was pursuing her PhD in Experimental Physics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Survived by her boyfriend, Sterling Hall, her sister, Mya Ellis, her grandparents, James and Jeannie Bird and Ronald and Beverly Mullaney, her father, Malcolm Ellis (Sandy Ellis), and her mother, Christie Ellis (Raymond Lucio). Rachel leaves behind a legacy of resilience, compassion, and unwavering determination. In the somber blend of grief and remembrance, her memory shall forever linger in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
