Randall Clair Chugg, 71, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2023.
Randy was born in Logan, Utah to parents Clair Melvin Chugg and Colleen Hansen Chugg on March 30th, 1951.
Randy moved with his family to Las Vegas as a small child in 1954. He enjoyed growing up in Las Vegas and made many lifelong friends. While still in high school Randy joined the IATSE Local 720 Stagehand Union. He spent some time working in Lake Tahoe as a ski instructor and working on the search and rescue team to help with avalanche recovery. He returned to Las Vegas and worked again as a stagehand during some of the greatest years of entertainment in Las Vegas, working with The Rat Pack, Elvis, and many other greats. Randy is credited on many movies filmed in Las Vegas during the '80s and '90s. He was a welder, fabricator, carpenter, hunter, fisher, and pretty much a jack of all trades. He loved playing pool where he made wonderful friends and touched many people's lives. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandkids who he absolutely adored. He will be missed tremendously.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, Clair Melvin Chugg; mother, Collen Hansen Chugg; and brother Lorin Kerry Chugg.
Randy is survived by his daughter, Zoe Lynn Haviland; son-in-law, Sean Alan Haviland; grandson, Kable Wayne Randall Haviland; granddaughter, Vesper Lynn Hope Haviland; granddaughter, Ahsoka Colleen Quinn Haviland; sister, Deon Hansen Poort; brother, Ronald "Ron" Kaye Chugg; as well as many nieces and nephews, all from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Funeral services will be held graveside at 1 pm Friday, March 24th, 2023 with burial immediately following at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park 6200 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV, 89119.
Pallbearers will be Sean Haviland, Kable Haviland, Vesper Haviland, Ronald Chugg, Nicholas Poort and Nathan Poort.
In lieu of folwers, please make a donation in Randy's name to NRA-IATSE Local 720 Training Trust, Billiard Education Foundation or SafeNest.
