Randy died in his home surrounded by family on July 18, 2019, at the age of 54.
Randy was the 9th of the 10 children of Alfred Andrew Champoux and Rita Elizabeth Stegmiller Champoux. Born the 22nd of March in 1965 in Yakima, Washington.
Randy moved to Las Vegas at the tender age of 6 with his family. He graduated High School in 1983 from New Horizons Academy. He later went on to trade school and earned a Certification in Gaming Technology. Randy worked many jobs throughout his life. He was a Maintenance Engineer at West Charleston Baptist Church and School in Las Vegas for many years. He worked with Republic Services for a time but finally settled in Construction in the Masonry field.
Randy enjoyed electronics and computers. He could fix it, build it or run it if it had a keyboard. He loved spending time with his large family. Randy loved the Lord and loved to share his faith in Jesus and discuss the Bible with anyone who would listen. He loved his pets, singing, camping, going to movies and was an avid reader. He owned hundreds of books in his personal library and you would often find him with an Audio book as well. Randy had a great sense of humor and always seemed to have a corny joke to share. He was a member of “E Clampus Vitus”, a fraternal organization dedicated to the preservation of the heritage of the American West. He truly enjoyed his membership and would often share stories of the trips that they took. He had many meaningful and lasting friendships in this organization.
We would note that Randy loved his Politics and would be the first to debate with anyone the latest headlines that were in the news. He was fond of wearing hats and shirts that had political slogans just so he could start a conversation in case you commented on it; where he would then try to convince you of his point of view, with all the facts and figures to support it. He worked closely with the State of Nevada Republican Party during the last election.
Randy was predeceased by his Parents Fred and Rita Champoux, and his brother Andre’ Champoux. He is survived by his Sisters, Reine’ Hale, Nanette Seay and her husband James, Joleen Brickey, Marzella Schwartz, Tina Howard and her husband David, and Louina Champoux; also his brothers Fred Champoux and Brian Champoux. Randy had 30 nieces and nephews, 57 great nieces and nephews and 1 great great niece. Randy also had hundreds of cousins on both sides of his family.
There will be a memorial service for Randy, officiated by Rev. Bruce Morris of City Community Church, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 27th at Davis Funeral Home Rainbow Chapel. 1401 S. Rainbow Blvd, 89146. With a Celebration of Life following at the home of David and Tina Howard.
