Ray Edwin Froehlich, 80, died peacefully on August 30, 2019 at his home in Las Vegas Nevada. He was born November 4, 1938 in Roseburg, OR to Paul and Francis Froehlich. A loving husband, father and grandfather he grew up in Myrtle Creek, OR where he attended High School. He joined the Navy in 1956 at the age of 18 and served for 2 years. He then joined the Air Force in 1958 at the age of 20. He met and married Annabelle Sanchez in 1969 while stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. He worked as an avionics technician and retired out of George Air Force Base in California, after proudly serving for 20 years. He began his second career with McCarran International Airport where he worked for 26 years as a heavy equipment operator. Ray loved spending time at the lake, building radio controlled airplanes, collecting coins, belt buckles and tracking the weather.
Ray is survived by his wife Annabelle of 49 years, his children Robert (Kristine) Froehlich and Heidi (Larry) Cohen as well as his four grandchildren Gavin, Grayson, Morgan and Saxon. He is also survived by his sister Susan and his brother Robert.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Francis Froehlich and his brother Glenn.
Services to honor and celebrate Ray’s life will be on September 13, 2019, at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
He will be laid to rest near the airplanes he loved so dearly at the Davis Memorial Park in Las Vegas near the McCarran Airport runways.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Ray’s name to the American Cancer Society of America to help them continue to do research for cancer patients.
