Anderson, CSV, Rev. Edward C, priest of the Viatorian Community died on August 14 at the age of 94. He was the only son of the late Edward and Catherine O'Shea Anderson. Fr. Anderson pronounced his first vows with the Clerics of St. Viator on August 16, 1945 and final vows on August 15, 1948. He was ordained a priest on June 6, 1950. He held a BA degree in philosophy from DePaul University, Chicago, IL and an MA degree in education from the University of Illinois, Champaign, IL. He held an STL degree in theology from Catholic University of America, Washington DC. He taught at Stepinac High School, New York City, NY, Spalding Institute, Peoria, IL, Cathedral Boys High School, Springfield, IL, and Alleman High School, Rock Island, IL. He was principal at Bishop Gorman High School, Las Vegas, NV. He also taught theology at the Viatorian Seminary in Evanston, IL. From 1969 to 1974, Fr. Anderson served as the first ""elected"" Provincial Superior of the Clerics of St. Viator, Province of Chicago. After his term as provincial, he served as assistant pastor and then pastor at St. Viator Church, Las Vegas, NV and rector of Guardian Angel Cathedral, Las Vegas, NV. He retired in Las Vegas in 1990.
Visitation will be at St. Viator Church in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 20 from 9:30 to 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation. Interment will be at Davis Memorial Park in Las Vegas.
