Richard Lee Schmoldt, 56, Las Vegas, NV, passed away on January 17th, 2024 at his residence.
He was born in Daytona Beach, FL on November 24th, 1967, to Mary Irene (Carruth) Sherrard and Richard Sherrard. He was lovingly adopted at the age of six by Leonard Schmoldt.
Ricky never met a stranger. He lived a big life, loved bigger and was the life of the party! He attended Kimball County High School in Kimball, NE graduating in1986 and went to college at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and received a degree from Westwood College in Denver, CO for HVAC. Rick worked for Lawyer Mechanical Services in Las Vegas on large commercial systems for 20 years. He wound up inventing a device that helped improve the efficiency of air conditioners. Richard Lee Schmoldt was united in marriage to Ilene Villalino in 2010 and lovingly adopted her son, James. Above all, Rick was a devoted father and his boys were his world.
He is survived by his parents Leonard and Mary Schmoldt of Kingman, AZ; two sons, Trae Schmoldt (Megan Haselwood), and James Schmoldt of Las Vegas; a sister Shawni Brown, of The Colony, TX; three nieces, Toni Danae Hollowinski (Kevin) of Stansbury Park, UT, Trisha Langteau of Oklahoma City, OK, Tiffani Floyd (Jason Walters) of McPherson, KS, great nieces Nevaeh and Bailee, great nephew Garrett; and his favorite Aunt Chee, Charlene Adams, of Littleton, CO.
Richard was preceded in death by his Uncle Charles Carruth and his biological dad, Richard Sherrard.
