Rita Marie Warner, age 53, of Las Vegas, was lifted to a better place on April 23, 2024, after a year long battle with cancer. She was home when she peacefully passed, surrounded by, her mother, her husband and her brother.
Rita was born in Hartford, Connecticut to Frank and Kathleen Faust on October 3, 1970. She spent most of her life in Connecticut. She attended Norwich Vocational High School and went on to attend Thames Valley Community College. She brought four beautiful children into the world and cared for them for much of her adult life. Late in her life Rita started a career in the addiction recovery field after winning her own battle with opioid addiction. Rita worked at Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery. She went on to become a recovery coach at the Southeastern Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence. Rita saved many lives and helped so many on their road to recovery through her compassion and empathy. From working in the community to advocating for funds from the Connecticut legislature, she was determined to be a support and comfort to all those she came into contact with. She continued this work that she loved until she was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2023. In August of 2023 she moved to Las Vegas with her fiance’ to be with her mother. Rita married the love of her life, Michael, on November 10th, 2023.
Rita loved the ocean, diamond art and playing backgammon. She loved driving her car with the radio on full blast and the wind blowing through her hair. She was a free spirit and that spirit now has the wings to fly wherever she wants.
Everyone Rita touched was better off for having known her. Her infectious smile and sparkling eyes touched so many hearts. She will be so very missed by so many.
Rita is preceded in death by her grandmother and namesake, Rita Marie Dorak, her father Frank Faust and her paternal grandparents.
