Ron Romeo Nacapuy Galicinao, of Honolulu Hawaii, peacefully passed in Las Vegas on Wednesday July 21, 2021 at the age of 69 years old.
He was born in Bacarra Ilocos Norte, Philippines on May 24, 1952, to Mariano Galicinao and Maria Galicinao (Nacapuy).
He was seen as being a very caring, thoughtful, courteous, hard-working person and started his education attending Santo Christo Elementary School and then moved on to Saint Andrew Academy High School.
In 1968 Upon graduation from High School, Ron came to US (Hawaii) and served in the US Navy on the CVA-61 carrier as a USS Ranger for 4 years earning a national defense service medal and a Vietnam service medal.
He attended Cannons Business College in Honolulu Hawaii and upon completion worked in the food and beverage industry and ended up as a full-service fine dining waiter at the Ala Moana Hotel Summit, Waikiki Moana Surfrider hotel, at the Ala Moana La Ronde.
Ron had many hobbies and passions like karaoke singing, golfing, movies, visiting Las Vegas, and fashion. He was a host at the Karaoke Rumors night club and the Waikiki Moana Surfrider Hotel.
His passion for movies ranged from watching all the TMC channel movies at home and the New Blockbuster Movies on the big screen in the theaters.
Ron loved his fashion and designers clothing. Ranging from colorful aloha shirts and his designers from Louis Vuitton to Polo not to mention all other designers.
By the year 2006 Ron’s vision had deteriorated and was diagnosed as being blind not to mention also with Diabetes and other organ problems and decided to retire from working but continued to work part time. Aside from being diagnosed being blind he also was diabetic and was fortunate to be chosen to be a kidney transplant recipient in May of 2018 after being on dialysis for over 5 years.
Being blind did not stop him from being independent and self-sufficient, riding THE BUS daily and would go to Ala Moana Shopping center and Kahala Mall.
His passion for nature made his frequent the beaches especially Ala Moana Beach.
His dream was to move to Las Vegas and was successful in moving in June of 2021 but was not able to fulfill his dream of buying a new home.
All to soon he was taking from us in July, but he had lived his life fully till the end leaving no regrets. He will be known for being a very caring, thoughtful, courteous, hard-working person.
He is preceded in death by his parents (Mariano and Maria); his brothers, Roy and Daniel; and his sisters, Cherie and Amy. He is survived by his brother, Allen and his wife, Zeny; his sister, Bernadette and his husband, Dencio; and his brother, Stanley. His nephews, Ryan, Alexander and Shaun; and his grand nieces, Clover and Alana; and his grandnephew, Rayden, survive his as well. Memorial services will be held in Hawaii in November 2021.
