OBITUARY for RONALD KNIGHT
RON KNIGHT, also known to many as an International Entertainer & "The Sir of Soul & Rock'n'Roll" -
Ron took his final bow on June 14, 2023 at 9am and left this earth. He crossed over peacefully in his sleep whilst in the arms of his loving wife at his home in Las Vegas where he was happy to be.
Ron was born in 1950 in East Orange New Jersey to the late John W. Knight (father) and Lucille Maggie Wilson (mother), he was one of 8 siblings and is now survived by his 3 remaining younger sisters Denise, Cookie & Lucretia, his loving wife & Soulmate Kimberley Knight, two wonderful children from his first marriage to Kerri Knight, Son "Curtis John Knight" & Daughter "Savannah Mariah Knight-Praditsarn" and 4 beautiful kindhearted grandchildren that will now continue his legacy and the KNIGHT name.
Ron's music career and family life crossed 2 continents, after growing up in Newark, New Jersey on Dayton Street and seeing his older brother as 'Aurthur Knight & The Keytones' have musical hits in the 50's (Earth Angel &
A Fool in Love) Ron knew music was for him. In 1968, after graduating he moved to Los Angeles California studying music and business at UCLA & USC whilst starting his musical career & forming his own 7piece working bands all whilst receiving his bachelor's degrees. Ron was drafted in the early 70's and toured as a singing musician with Bob Hope's USA Tours, then worked in movies in Hollywood and kept his bands playing. In 1980 he met his first wife and moved to Australia where they married, he became a dual citizen and they started their family. Ron Knight became a celebrity entertainer from his major television winnings on Star Search Australia and toured all major Australian Casino's with Chelsea Brown in a show "Double Vision". During the 80's he formed 'Ron Knight & the Daze Band' and then in 1992 met his current wife and they started a fully costumed and choreographed show as 'Ron Knight & the Fabulous Daze' which bought him full circle and back to his homeland of the USA in 1998. In 1999, under the guidance of Elvis Presley's former manager Bobby Morris, Owner of World-Wide Entertainment, Ron Knight became a Las Vegas Headliner, securing a 2year contract with the once famous Showboat Hotel & Casino. Over the past 25 years residing in Las Vegas Ron continued to enjoy his music career in both countries, finishing his performance run in 2021 & 2022 at the world famous 'Stirling Club' in Las Vegas when Dionne Warwick took her residency. Las Vegas was a place where he watched his children grow into wonderful adults who now both have families of their own.
Ron led a very healthy lifestyle, always exercising and eating the right foods so he didn't care much for western medicine and when he was ultimately diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic and liver cancer amongst other major digestive tract blockages caused by a parasite infection, it was just too little too late for his weakened body to heal, time to rectify the damage already done to his organs was just not available but was thankfully pain-free at the end thanks to the holistic treatments and "Phoenix Tears" (Rick Simpson Oil) that allowed him to pass in his sleep pain-free and loved.
Ron was a man of honor, dignity, bravery, great talent & love.
He touched many people's hearts around the world with his singing ability, kindness and charismatic personality, he may now be gone from this realm but will never be forgotten.
He was truly a wonderful man, husband, father & grandfather and his memories will live on in all of us forever.
