Ronald passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

The Stewart family came to Las Vegas in the early 1900s where they operated the Old Ranch just below the current sites of Cashman Field and the Old Mormon Fort. Later they purchased the Winterwood Ranch at Charleston and Nellis Boulevards. Ronald was the last of this great pioneering family, and the last of the true western cowboys.

Ronald attended the old Las Vegas High School in 1924, then graduated from Paranaghat High School in Lincoln County in 1928.

He served an honorable mission for the LDS Church in 1935.

Ronald met his beloved wife, Vinnie Farnsworth, in Alamo, and they were married in 1939 in the LDS St. George Temple. They lived in Alamo for a short time, then moved to Las Vegas where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Ronald worked for the ice company, the gas company, and the highway department, before finally working with his dad and brothers on their ranch. He worked as a rancher until he retired in the 1980s.

Ronald left a legacy of devoted service by teaching many generations of young men in the LDS Las Vegas First Ward in Las Vegas. He also served in numerous bishoprics, high councils, and other ward and stake auxiliary presidencies during his life. He was an ordinance worker in both the Las Vegas and St. George Temples for over 25 years.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 27 at 11:00 am at the LDS Gateway and Wyoming chapel, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 am, prior to the services.
