Ronald Robert Terneuzen, 82, passed away peacefully in his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 26, 2024. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 26, 1942.
A lover of classic movies, Ron was proud to own one of the original Maltese Falcons from the Humphrey Bogart film, which he often shared with friends and family. His passion for film was matched only by his love for conversation, especially about politics, a subject he enjoyed discussing with his cousin by marriage, Dan Emmons.
Ron served in the Air Force and was stationed in Las Vegas, where he chose to settle after his service. In his early years in the city, he worked as a blackjack dealer during the Rat Pack's heyday. It was at the blackjack table that he met his future wife, Ann Maxwell. Together, they shared a beautiful life until her passing.
Ron was predeceased by his father, Robert Terneuzen; his mother, Edith Terneuzen; his wife, Ann Maxwell Terneuzen; and his cousin, Nancy Maxwell Emmons. He is survived by his brother, Roger Terneuzen, and his sister, Robin Earin, both of whom he spoke with nearly every day.
A deeply thoughtful man, Ron was known for sending cards to everyone he knew on holidays, always remembering the people in his life. His kindness, generosity, and spirited nature will be missed by all who knew him.
May he rest in peace. God bless you in heaven, Ron.
