Rose Miles, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 12, 2017. She was born on September 10, 1925 in South Bend, Indiana to Joseph and Tillie Stabnik. Growing up, she worked hard to help her family, and when World War II broke out she became one of the ""Rosie the Riveter Girls"" making carburetors for tanks. In 1947, she married Richard Miles and they moved to Las Vegas to pursue jobs in the growing gaming industry. Rose worked for 38 years as a cocktail waitress at the Desert Inn Hotel and was voted one of Las Vegas' Great Ambassadors. She loved working on the strip and would often tell stories of the ""good old days."" She is survived by her sister, Dorothy, her two sons, Rodney (Ann) and Gregory (Alison), her three grandchildren, Kelly (Euan), Melinda and Andy (Brittany), and seven great-grandchildren. There was nobody like Grandma Rose. When she was around, you never knew what was going to happen. We will miss her. Services will be private.
