Ex WWII POW Roy R. Pease passed away April 17, 2011.
Roy was born September 24, 1923, in Spokane, Washington. He joined the Army Air Corp after Pearl Harbor, was a waistgunner on a B17, and was shot down over Germany on his 50th and last mission. He was liberated in 1945.
Roys career as an electrician included the missile launch facilities at Vandenberg AFB, Boundary Dam on the Canadian border, the Diablo Nuclear Power Plant in California, the Nuclear Test Site here in Nevada, and many of the hotels and casinos here in Las Vegas.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 62 years, locally IBEW 357.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vera, a retired RN, his 4 children Michael, Sally, Beverly, and Nancy, and by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern, on Thursday, April 21, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Friday, April 22, from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM. Burial will be at 9:20 AM on Friday at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
