Ruby Virginia Graves

March 7, 1929 — December 24, 2019

Our beloved and cherished mother Mrs. Ruby Virginia Moore Graves was born in Greenville, South Carolina on March 7th. 1929 to Mr. Fred Moore and Mrs. Ruth Moore. The youngest daughter of nine children. Being the daughter of sharecroppers she worked diligently to help support her family. She had a limited formal education completing Junior High school. Ruby was devoted to her brothers and sisters, they had many good times together. She learned to cook at an early age and her papa loved her biscuits. She became a silk presser apprentice in her early twenties. This became her life long career. She met and married Irvin W. Graves I, a United States Airforce military man. They traveled extensively throughout the U.S.A and abroad with the Airforce. With this union came six dearly loved children. The family settled in Las Vegas and her husband retired from the U.S. Airforce at Nellis Airforce base in 1971. She was a loving and devoted wife to Irvin for over 43 years until his passing. Ruby received a much-deserved certificate of appreciation for her own unselfish, faithful, and devoted service. Her unfailing support and understanding helped to make possible her husband's lasting contribution to the nation. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband Irvin W. Graves I, a son Christen Graves, granddaughter Shavonne Thomas Graves. Ruby is survived by her 5 children, Mrs. Ruby (Jimmie) Chapman, Mrs. Elanora Graves Newsome, Irvin W. Graves II (Ina), Mrs. Valerie Graves Kincaid, Mrs. Sharon Koppel (Senn). Eleven grandchildren: Jamilah (Larry) Pittman, Jermaine (Leslie) Kincaid, Samantha (Dan) Isaacson, Jennifer (Jason) Jablonsky, Erica Chapman, Johnathan Kincaid, Benjamin Koppel, Natalie Koppel, Symone Koppel, Jordan Kincaid, Denzel Graves.
