Ruth Callahan

Ruth Callahan, 92, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully in her home on March 11, 2019.
Ruth was born in Wales, North Dakota, to Christian and Bertha Pederson on December 19, 1926.
She grew up on the farm with her family and met her husband, Raymond Callahan, in Salem, Oregon. The two married in Oregon and moved to California and had two children. They had always wanted to move to Las Vegas, and that dream became a reality in 1973. Ruth became a wardrobe mistress for Hallelujah Hollywood and Jubilee at The MGM, and The Stars at The Hilton. She was renowned for her sewing skills and ability to quickly dress her dancers and get them ready for the stage. She retired after the birth of her granddaughter to spend time with her family.
Ruth Callahan is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Callahan, her parents, and her siblings: Clara, Malvina, Sydney, Lilly, Ethel and Vivian.
She is survived by her children Nancy Callahan and Michael Callahan of Las Vegas, her granddaughter, Maureen Seymour of Las Vegas, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, April 16, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, with burial to follow. Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Homes and the Southern Nevada Veterans memorial Cemetery.
