SALLIE RAE (JOHNSTON) CLINARD Sallie Rae Clinard of Las Vegas passed away on July 31, 2017. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho on October 6, 1943 to Kenneth and Martha Johnston. During her childhood her family moved from Idaho to Utah, Oklahoma and finally Great Falls Montana where she met the love of her life, Gary Clinard. Gary left Montana to attend Caltech, but after a year apart, they reunited in Marriage on December 28, 1962. Together in California they raised two sons, built a successful business, and developed a love of adventure. In 1998 they sold their business and moved to Las Vegas. After her retirement, Sallie worked tirelessly to further the responsible use of open lands and to improve the availability of land to off-road vehicle enthusiasts; enjoying many hours off-roading on her ATV. Sallie loved to travel and orchestrated trips all over the world. She was wildly curious; always wanting to take the road less traveled. She loved the out of doors; the mountains, the desert, the sky and especially wildflowers. She was an avid photographer and would spend hours waiting for the perfect shot. Her passion for life, for nature, and for her family was endless. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and brother Phil Johnston. She is survived by her husband, Gary and two sons, Jeffery Clinard and Steven Clinard and three siblings; Kathleen Robinson, Judy Simpson, and Ken Johnston (Linda) . Service to be held at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave Saturday, September 2 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers please give to the charity of your choice.
