Sally "Bear" A. Keener

Sally Ann ""The Bear"" Keener, 72, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016. Sally was born March 26, 1943 in Jamestown Ohio, to parents Oliver and Gladys Welty. She came to Nevada in 1998. Sally held several jobs throughout her life and studied cosmetology but she considered the most important job she ever had was being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Desert Sage Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. ""Grandma"" or ""The Bear"" will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Sally was preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Gladys Welty, her sister Vita, her three brothers Bob, Mel, and Gene, her son Johnny Keener, and her husband of 56 years Billy D. Keener. She is survived by her three sons, William Keener of Aurora Missouri, Robert Keener of Las Vegas, and Charles and Nicole Keener of Victorville, California, ten grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation and services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make donations to the American Cancer Society in Sally's memory.
