Samuel Wells Smith

Samuel Wells Smith, 83, of Las Vegas, passed away August 14, 2011. He was born July 14, 1928, in Englewood, New Jersey, and resided in Nevada for 16 years.

He was a professor and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Samuel is survived by Senora Smith of Las Vegas, Jeffrey L. Smith and Dawn E. Smith, both of North Carolina, Tamara A. Smith of Maryland, Cynthia F. Smith of Florida, and Catherine Y. Smith of Washington.

Graveside services at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorial service will be at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, August 21, at Bahai Center, 7035 W. Oakey Blvd., all faiths welcome.

Donations may be made to the Samuel W. Smith Scholarship Fund at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill.
