Shedrick Bernard Brown, 45, of Las Vegas, Nevada, went home to Glory in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 7, 2016, with his devoted wife of twenty-four years, Shaquilla Monique Brown, at his side. Shedrick, who was affectionately called ""Shed,"" was born April 9, 1971 in Charleston, South Carolina to Charles Bernard Brown and Joanne Orr Oland. After spending time in North Carolina, Shed moved to the Republic of Panama with his family. His family moved to Las Vegas in 1985. In high school, Shed played football and participated in wrestling. He also enjoyed rap music and breakdancing, and acquired the tag name of which he remained proud, ""V Rock."" Shed graduated from Eldorado High School in 1988. Shed married the love of his life, Shaquilla, four years later, on January 10, 1992, at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas.
Shed worked at Station Casinos for over twenty-five years worker, distinguishing himself as an Executive Sous Chef. Shed most recently had been working as an Executive Sous Chef over the Employee Dining Room at the ARIA Resort & Casino, a MGM property. Shed was an enthusiastic entrepreneur and among his various projects, opened a 99¢ store called ""Big Time 99."" Shed recorded a Gospel CD through his record label, ""Gospel Reign Records,"" called ""The âV' Holy Roll,"" released in 2004. It is also the music that has been playing today during Shed's wake.
Shed loved the Lord. When he was 23, Shed became a preacher. He founded a church called Great Light Holy Spirit Without Measure. In his last days, Shed labored in the Harvest of the Lord at his church, House of Prayer (Isaiah 56:7), where he served as an Elder. Shed had many hobbies and passionate interests. One of these was cars, and the other was weaponry. Shed loved to dress in custom-made suits that made him stand out in a crowd. Shed was an adventurous traveler. He traveled to Hawaii, Panama, Aruba, Dominican Republic, and cruises to Jamaica and the Mexican Riviera. Shed was an extremely funny guy, easy to get along with, with a ready and bright smile, and a warm, and generous heart.
Shedrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie and Maggie Brown, and Recker Myers, as well as his aunt, Jeanette Brown, his uncle, Jessie Brown, his cousin, Leroy Brown, and his brother, Sieur Coaxum, Sr. Shedrick is survived by his wife, Shaquilla, and their children, Baecha Brown, Asa Brown, and Ariel Brown. Shedrick is also survived by his siblings, Deborah Coaxum, Alexander Coaxum, Sebastian Coaxum, Patrick Coaxum, Anthony Coaxum, Bernard Brown, and a later-in-life, ""adopted"" brother, Emerson Williams. Shedrick also leaves behind to honor his memory his doting parents, Charles B. Brown, and Joanne O. Oland, as well as several loving sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of loyal friends.
