Stella Montoya Romero

Stella,103 years old, passed away on March 23, 2022. She was born to Cleotilde Casaus Montoya and Placido Montoya in Quadalupe, NM, a village created in the 1600s by our ancestors who migrated from Spain. She married Kenneth Romero and raised their family of 5 boys and 3 girls in Ft. Summer NM. The family moved to Las Vegas, NV in July 1963. Her biggest love was to be surrounded by her very large family.

She was a member of the Blind Center, worked at an assisted living facility, many decades as a member of RPEN (retired Public Employees of NV) when downtown was flourishing she worked for a women's clothing store and later for CCSD (Clark County School District) until her retirement. She enjoyed BINGO every Saturday for many years.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth, 4 sons; Kenneth Jr., Albert, Donald, and Jimmy, 2 grandsons; Mike Romero and Jerry Garza, 1 great-grandson Kenneth Gonzales. She was joined in heaven by her daughter, Linda Romero, who passed at Hospice on April 6, 2022.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Doris (James) Green, Lucy (Dennie) Greene, and 1 son Ronnie Romero, 6 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 15 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitations will be at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119 on April 26, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Services will be at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89104 on April 27, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Bunkers Eden Vale, 925 Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89101 on April 27, 2022 at 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be announced.
