Steven Robert O'Shea, of Henderson, passed away on December 15 in Henderson, NV.
Steven was born in Chicago, IL to Robert and Irene (Peckus) Osiecki on May 20, 1954. He married Teresa on October 14, 1989, at the Church of the Ascension, in Fountain Hills, AZ.
Steven had numerous passions in life. He loved everything about hockey. He started out as a squirt and moved through the ranks over time: peewee, bantam, and midget. Steve even traveled to Aspen, Colorado during his summers to play for the Aspen Buds, coached by the legendary "Badger" Bob Johnson. Steven graduated from John Hersey H.S. in Arlington Heights, IL in 1972. Although he began attending the University of Wisconsin, his passion for RF and Microwave would not wait. He quit school and started his own business called SHEA/TRON. He created, developed, and sold amplifiers to Motorola (Schaumburg, IL) and continued this business for ten years.
Selling his company to Antenna Specialists (AS) in Euclid, OH, Steven also relocated to OH in 1983 to assist with the transfer of materials and intellectual property. He worked with AS for three years. In 1986, Motorola Phoenix contacted him and offered Steven an RF and Microwave Marketing position. Working for Motorola Phoenix was one of Steven's greatest joys in life. He was honored to collaborate with technicians and engineers that he had grown up knowing only through reading their articles in various professional journals. Over time, Steven became the Product Manager of the RF and Microwave Group, which offered endless travel around the world. Steven was also a member of the Motorola "Silver Quill" since he had authored many technical articles for various microwave journals. Through the years, Steven accepted various RF and Microwave distribution positions, which landed him in WA. Once he retired, Steve and his wife moved to Henderson, NV.
Steven also enjoyed cooking and creating opportunities for gathering people together. He took so much pride in his self-taught culinary skills, while his loved ones and friends consumed all his creative delectable dishes. Steven appreciated all things related to nature too. From cutting, stacking, and burning firewood in WA to fishing with friends and family (in far too many lakes to mention in North America), Steven's zest for life was obvious to all. All your friends and loved ones wish we had more time with you. Although you may not be here physically Steven, you will always be with us in spirit.
Steven is preceded in death by Robert Osieski (father), all his aunts and uncles, and a cousin.
Steven is survived by his wife of 34 years, Teresa (Bittner), Irene (mother), Joan (sister), James (brother), as well as several nieces and nephews.
As per Steven's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
