Steven Powell, 62, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. He was born Aug. 14, 1950 in St. Francis, Kan., and had been a resident of Nevada since 1968. As a teenager, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Steve was a Freemason, member of Oasis Lodge 41, and Zelzah Shrine Temple. Known as Dewey to many, he was a member of the Shrine Clowns. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Claudette and his parents, Joyce and Merlyn Powell. Steve is survived by his wife, Laura Jo daughters, Stephanie and Shannon stepsons, Shane and Zachary and sisters, Myrna and Cheryl.
He will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, at Masonic Memorial Temple, 2200 W. Mesquite Ave.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be sent to the Zelzah Shrine Transportation Fund, 2222 W. Mesquite Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89106.
