Thelma Louise Hayes - Taylor

Life Reflections

Thelma Louise Hudson Taylor was born December 9, 1952 in Coffeeville, MS to the late Susie O. Hudson. 

Thelma accepted Christ and was baptized at Belle Flower Missionary Baptist Church in Grenada, MS.

Thelma was educated in Grenada until she and her family moved to Saint Louis, MO in 1966.  She attended and graduated from Sumner High School.  While attending Sumner, Thelma met and married Michael Cole, Sr.  To this union, GOD blessed them with a son, Michael DeAndre Cole.

Thelma’s passion for helping and caring for people lead to her profession in healthcare as a pharmacy technician.

Later, Thelma “Tina” met the love of her life, Theopolis (Theo).  In October 2001, they moved to Las Vegas after competing in two pool tournaments.

Thelma was employed at Henderson Hospital.  She showed great care to her patients and the staff loved her smile and hugs.  She was very passionate about her job as a certified nursing assistant and continued to work part-time after she retired.

Thelma enjoyed cooking, traveling, sightseeing and riding her motorcycle.

On July 28, 2023, GOD called Thelma to her heavenly home to be at peace and to rest from her labor.

Thelma was preceded in death by her mother (Oudia), sister (Claudia) and nephew (Derek).

Thelma leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: a devoted and loving husband, Theopolis Taylor; a son, Michael Cole; four grandchildren; a stepson, Stephan Williams; a sister; Shirley Hudson; three aunts, Gladys (Willie) Lathan, Ethel (James) Morgan and Bessie Johnson; one uncle, Elam (Lynn) Hudson; sister-in-law, Lourdes Taylor (Lawrence) Sylvester; brother-in-law Larry (Marcia) Taylor; a special friend, Clark Watson and a host of cousins and friends.
