Thomas J. Roe

Loving husband, father, friend and teacher, Thomas J. Tom Roe, 65, a music educator, of Las Vegas, passed away December 11, 2011.

He was born June 21, 1946, in Minneapolis, and was a 33year resident of Nevada.

Tom devoted his entire life to the education of children and taught at elementary, secondary and postsecondary levels, including as Assistant Director of Bands at UNLV. He judged for DCI, MBA, WGI and other music organizations form 19692005. He also lobbied on behalf of childhood cancer research funding so that no child would have to hear the words, You have cancer.

Tom was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Roe mother, Clarice Svitak and halfsister, Jan Greeser.

Tom is survived by his wife, Susan Roe and daughter, Katie Ryan.
