Thomas Tom Earl Skeary passed away at Desert Springs Hospital on July 18, 2014 at 11:15am at the age of 77.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Skeary, of 57 years. They were married in San Bernardino, California on August 18, 1956.
Tom is lovingly remembered by his children and their spouses: Lucinda and Steve Wilson, Paul Skeary, and Tracy Skeary. His grandchildren: Carl Masonholder, Laura Smith, Tyler and Alexandra Skeary, Sabrina and Terry Rettinger, Shanna Skeary, Earlene and Joey Fielder, Erin and Josh Golden. And his great grandchildren: Alexis and Nicholas Smith, Joslyn Richter, Madelyn Skeary, Tye, Riley, and Chase Rettinger, Keenan, Kase, and Koen Fielder, Hunter and Piper Golden
Tom was born in West Springfield, MA on August 20, 1936. He and his family moved to North Hollywood, CA at age 15 where he worked part time as a house and commercial painter while finishing high school. After finishing high school he continued a career as a painter. At age 17 he followed a pretty blonde, Patricia Johnston, to church where he got her phone number and requested a date. Two years later, he and Patricia were married. They started a family and welcomed a daughter in 1958 then later a son and another daughter. He was a loving and devoted father. He and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in the 70s where he started his own painting company, TPS, which remained in business until 2009.
Tom enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, playing paintball, and riding bicycles and motorcycles. He was a lifetime member of the Las Vegas Archers and the Southern Nevada Gem and Mineral Society. He was also a member of the Las Vegas Bonsai Society and the Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers.
The celebration of his life will be held at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 6200 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV on Monday, July 21, 2014 to begin at 10:00A.M.
