Thomas S. Woolsey

Thomas Stephan Woolsey, 62, of Henderson, passed away April 4, 2011, after a short battle with kidney cancer.

Thomas was a devoted husband for 36 years to his wife, Molly proud and loving father to Stacy Perry and Robert amazing grandfather to Gabriel, Matthew, Benjamin, Sarah and Lauren. He was son of the late Margaret Haight and Raymond Woolsey brother to the late Robert and is survived by his brothers, Raymond, Richard and John and sister, Margaret.

Thomas was born May 17, 1948, in Brooklyn, N.Y., resided in Little Egg Harbor, N.J., for 23 years and moved to Nevada in 2001. Thomas retired from Verizon Communications in 2001, after working as a network technician for 30 years. For the past seven years, Thomas has been employed by the Nevada DMV. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war during which time he was awarded numerous commendations. He continued his spirit of service by becoming a lifetime member of the VFW and commander of Post 316 in Mystic Islands, N.J. Thomas also served his community as mayor of Little Egg Harbor from 19901995.

Thomas funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Dr., Boulder City. Military honors and graveside service to follow at noon at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Kidney Cancer Association
