Tupoununu Vea

October 31, 1975 — April 29, 2021

Matthew 11:28-30 ‘Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.

Our dear brother, Tupoununu Vea was gifted into the world on October 31, 1975 and returned to heaven at the young age of 45 on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Nunu was born and raised in the South Pacific Island, Kingdom of Tonga. He migrated to Samoa, and Hawaii where his father Moungahea was a commercial fisherman. The family uprooted to Alaska in pursuit of better opportunities. Nunu replanted roots in Las Vegas, Nevada with his beautiful wife Bridget. While in Vegas, Nunu reconnected with his cousins Henry Saafi Jr, John Saulala, Conrad Vea and sister neighbor Laritza “Lolo” Mercedes Gonzales, from Anchorage, Alaska.  Prior to his illness, Nunu was employed with the wonderful and supportive company NPL Construction as a CDL Truck Driver. Nunu was an avid gamer, anime enthusiast, outdoors man and seasoned grill master. He was a kind soul, inquisitive and quite witty. Nunu cared about people in the purest way and loved them for who they were without asking anything in return. Nunu “Scorpio Prime” and his quad of best friends, also known as “the four horsemen,” Maceo “Blacktino Heat” Garcia (recently deceased), Chris McKenna “The Goblin”, Steve “Jubei Sama” Teeter will carry on his legacy. Signing off, “Red Comet 75” over and out…

From a young age, our parents instilled in us the value of faith, family, culture, and community.  Nunu was blessed with a diverse and loving family of aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends from around the globe in Alaska, Arizona, Australia, California, Canada, England, Fiji, Hawaii, Nevada, New Zealand, New Jersey, Oregon, Samoa, Texas, Tonga, Utah, and Washington. Beloved son Nunu is survived by his parents Sione Moungahea and Liliane Sipaisi Vea.  Loving brother to elder sister Lesieli Tisiola Vea-Ulukivaiola, brother Vasco Dacama (Vesiko tukama), and younger sisters Madeleine Liberty and Cindy Ngalu Ea O Popua, best friend and bride Bridget Whittle, their children, and grandchildren. Together they formed a blended family filled with love, patience, and humility. Adored father to Monique Panoncillo, Melvin Rushing, his wife Gabrielle, Masao, his partner Shyla Foster, Romeo, his wife Megan, Damahny Whittle, his partner Tehani Tapuala, Nuangelo, Olivia Tatiana, Liliana Marie, and Thomas Moungahea. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Sela, Kaleo, Kenai, Taia and Amela.

Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy, and celebration. Hummingbirds open our eyes to the wonder of the world and inspire us to open our hearts to loved ones and friends. Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and to savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday. The hummingbird’s delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning, and that laughter is life’s sweetest creation. –Papyrus …

Rest in Eternal Peace Little Brother.
