Lt. Colonel Vincent J. Bruttomesso Sr.
US Air Force Retired
Vincent Bruttomesso, 88, left us on Wednesday, December 28, after an extended illness and courageous fight. Vince was born December 16,1923 in Val Halla, New York.
He enlisted in the USAF in August of 1942 and became a fighter pilot. He proudly served his country during WWII, the Korean Conflict and also Viet Nam.
After his retirement as head of personnel at Nellis Air Force Base in 1969 he began a second career in real estate, becoming a successful developer here in Las Vegas. He and his loving wife of 98 years, Betty, were blessed with 6 children.
Vince was preceded in death by his wife Betty and their daughter Caroline. He is survived by his children, Vincent Bruttomesso Jr. and wife Sandra, Thomas Bruttomesso, Garry Bruttomesso, Katherine Schweers and husband Joseph, Janice Giannosa and husband James, along with numerous grandchildren, many great grandchildren and his second wife, Jan.
Vince called golf his third career. He bowled with the Bishop Gorman league for over 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was past president of the Uptown Kiwanis Club.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Vogelzang and his staff at the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Nevada and also to the compassionate staff of Creekside Hospice.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded War Veterans Association.
