Virginia Mae Johnson

January 12, 1921 — April 29, 2010

Virginia Mae Johnson

Born the eldest of four children to Floyd and Sarah Dublar in E. St. Louis, Illinois, January 12, 1921.
Married Elmo Johnson January 31, 1955.
Virginia worked for the telephone company in E St Louis for awhile then on the manufacturing line for Ober and Nester bottle company making glass bottles, then for Monsanto in the lab before becoming a full time home maker for her family of three and then some. Virginia enjoyed bowling for many years in and around the E. St. Louis, IL area. She taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school for many years and brought her own children to know the Lord as well as many others.
In her and Elmos retirement years they were able to visit places they never even dreamed of as a younger couple raising three children, going on a cruise ship with Jim and Marie and trips to the Bahamas, Turks and Cacaos and the Dominican Republic with family and friends topped the list. Some of their trips were not so exotic, but more frequent, to the local casinos and bingo halls of St Louis, Mo area Oklahoma and Las Vegas. While on a Bingo trip to Oklahoma Virginia was fortunate enough to win a new car, which I think she counted as the highlight of her bingo career.
