August 14, 1948 — November 23, 2021

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, Wayne Richard Wright, Jr., loving husband and father of three sons, passed away at age 73 at Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV.

Rick was born on August 14, 1948, in Hartford, CT to Wayne Wright Sr. and Margaret Flavell of Manchester, CT. He graduated from Manchester High School. He then entered the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as an SP5. He earned several medals, badges, and citation awards. After his military service, he graduated from Manchester Community College.

Rick worked for Pratt &Whitney as an aircraft guard. On December 13, 1975, he rescued a trapped driver in an overturned fuel tank truck that was leaking gasoline and had an electrical fire. Rick was awarded an outstanding citation for valor for grave danger and for acting to protect lives without regard to personal safety.

After moving to California, he began a computer company and it remained in business for more than 20 years. Rick then retired to Las Vegas, NV.

One of his favorite hobbies was working on cars. He was an avid Star Trek fan and enjoyed watching the movies with his sons until the wee hours of the morning. He loved having his first-morning cup of coffee out on the patio with his family to begin his days.

Rick is survived by his wife, Linda, of 48 years, sons Ryan Wright and his wife Genevieve, Kyle Wright, and Casey Wright and his wife Jennifer, sister Kathleen Guilmette of Ellington, CT, brother Paul Wright of Manchester, CT, and several nieces and nephews.
