William E. "Lucky" Luksavage, 76 of Boulder City, NV passed away March 2, 2024. Best known as "Lucky" to those who knew him. He was born in Coaldale, PA on January 16, 1948, to the late Agnes (Walters) and Boles Luksavage.
William graduated from Tamaqua Area High School in 1965, then served as a Sergeant in the United States Army in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969, and was awarded three Bronze Stars for Valor, two Purple Hearts, an Air Medal, a National Defense Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal.
William had a love for sports and helping his community. He was an ardent Penn State football fan having attended over 250 games, and enjoyed playing golf and participating in many charitable tournaments. William was a well-known baseball talent growing up in the Tamaqua area, playing in little league, high school, and the Tamaqua Softball League. Secretary of Tamaqua Softball League (5yrs). William was a coach for Tamaqua Area Babe Ruth League and Vice President Babe Ruth Baseball League (7yrs). During high school, William played football for the Tamaqua Raiders, later playing and aiding in the commencement of alumni football games for three consecutive years raising money for the renovation of Coaldale High School. William was a member of the American Bowling Association and President of the American Bowling League, Sky Lanes, Hometown, PA (8yrs), and Class B Champion in the annual Schuylkill County Masters Bowling Tournament, 1971. William was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail handler, later moving to Nevada to be closer to his children.
William was preceded in death by his wife Linda (Sherman). He is survived by his daughter Angela (Stephen) Magula, and his son, Michael Luksavage from his first marriage.
A service honoring the life of William will be held March 25, 10AM-11AM, Davis-Eastern Main Chapel, 6200 S Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV, followed by funeral honors and burial at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder, City, NV.
