Dr. Zenaida Palma Gonzaga, 81, of West Orange, NJ, passed away on January 16, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Zenaida was born in the Philippines where she attended Far Eastern University in Manila and earned her medical degree. She moved to the United States in 1967, practicing medicine as a pediatrician in Irvington, NJ for 45 years before retiring in 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Caesar and Felicidad Palma; her husband, Fernando Gonzaga; and her sisters, Diadema Joven and Beata Herrera.
Zenaida is survived by her daughters, Maria Gonzaga, Cristina Neighbor, and their spouses and her sons, Angelo, and Andrew Gonzaga; her siblings, Belma Casal, Lita Camacho, Barbara Yumul, Perla Panggat, Greg Palma, Cora Martinez, and their families; and her grandchild, Gabriella Neighbor.
Her family and friends will miss her infectious laughter and love for life. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing the piano, and spending time at the blackjack table. She loved to spend time with her family laughing, eating, and reminiscing. As the matriarch of the family, she will be leaving an immense void but will continue to inspire generosity and love in everyone who remains for generations to come.
Visitation will be Friday, January 22nd at 4 pm at Davis Funeral Home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at 1 pm at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Las Vegas Nevada.
