Zenaida ""Baiking"" Ututalum Hedjazi passed away at her home in Henderson Nevada on Wednesday August 3, 2016. She was born on May 6, 1940 in Siasi Sulu, Philippines to Salih and Maryam (Abubakar) Ututalum.
She was a 1960 graduate of Centro Escolar University College of Optometry in Manila Philippines and was 1961 Miss Visayas.
On October 17, 1964 she married Djamil Hedjazi in Los Angeles, California. Together they had 3 children.
Baking was her passion so in the early 70's she opened Zeny's Bakery in Huntington Beach, California. From 1977 until retirement she was a Quality Control Engineer at M/A-Com PHI, Inc. in Torrance California.
Zenaida and Djamil enjoyed traveling and camping with their children. One of the fondest memories we had with her was going wild berry picking. As soon as we brought the berries back to camp she would start baking her pies over the open fire. Other campers would follow the sweet aroma to our campsite where she would have enough pies to share with everyone who came. Some of her most enjoyable times were cooking and baking for her family, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Nur-Hussein ""Utoh"", Al- Rashid ""Teh"", Salih Jr ""Yoyoh"", Nur- Hassan ""Jan"", and 1 sister Morada ""Dada"".
She is survived by her husband Djamil, Daughter Fereshteh Mikolic (David), Son Jamie Hedjazi (Krystal), 2 grandchildren who she adored Christopher and Jonathan Mikolic, Sister Sururul-Ain ""Shirley"" (Karim), and many nieces, nephews and cousins who she loved very much. We will miss her dearly.
Service will be held at Davis Memorial Park, Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 9:00 am, 6200 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89119.
