Tomás “Tommy” Reyes, 81 of Las Vegas, Nevada went to meet with the Lord on April 18, 2021.
Tomás was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, U.S.A. on September 18, 1939 and moved to Chicago in 1959. Tomás was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for the City of Chicago - Department of Streets and Sanitation for 28 years.
Tomás retired in 1995 and moved his family to Nevada. Tomás loved to ride horses, lift weights, follow boxing and wrestling in addition to listening to country music.
Tomás also enjoyed a lifelong love of politics and current events, gardening as well as planting trees and vegetables. Later in life, he developed a passion for NASCAR racing.
Tomás is survived by his wife of 44 years, Letty Sanchez Reyes, his daughter Debbie Wells, his son Tommy Reyes, twin sons Andrew Thomas Reyes and Richard Thomas Reyes, his sister Lydia Reyes and brothers Roberto Reyes and Edwin Reyes, his granddaughter Kelly Jean Anderson and by his Godchildren Melanie Batista, Leonardy Castañeda and Alfredo Barraza, Jr. as well as his many nieces and nephews.
An Ossuary Scattering was held at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Friday, May 21, 2021.
Tomás adored his family, friends and living in Las Vegas. Thank you for the memories. We remember him fondly through his motto, “A trucker never dies – he just gets a new Peterbilt.”
